YOUTH TENNIS LOS ANGELES
WHAT IS YOUR PROGRAM NAME?
Our 501c3 non profit is called "Youth Tennis Los Angeles".
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROGRAM
Youth Tennis Los Angeles (YTLA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering the physical, social, and educational development of young people through tennis and academic support programs.
At its core, YTLA seeks to inspire the next generation by promoting character development, leadership, and a love for the game—all within a supportive, competitive, and active environment. Through its programs, youth not only grow as athletes but also as confident and capable individuals.
Driven by a vision of inclusivity and accessibility, YTLA works to bring tennis into the lives of children who may otherwise never have the opportunity to play. By integrating its programs into the physical education curriculum of local schools, YTLA ensures that tennis is within reach for all students, particularly those in underserved communities.
To further engage young athletes and foster healthy competition, YTLA offers a Competitive School League, where students represent their schools in team-based match play. In addition, advanced players can participate in the Tournament Team, which provides focused training and the opportunity to compete in weekend tournaments across the region.
Beyond accessibility, YTLA is committed to nurturing talent. The organization identifies promising young athletes from low-income backgrounds and provides them with pathways to elevate their training and reach their full potential in the sport.
Through these efforts, Youth Tennis Los Angeles is building more than athletes—it’s shaping future leaders, both on and off the court.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO TENNIS?
I've been coaching for over 35 years at various levels including collegiate and professional. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2018 while i was coaching at LMU. I wanted to spend more time with my two young daughters so we started Hot Shots Tennis in 2018 and YTLA in 2022. It's been wonderful to see the look in a young players eyes when they learn a new skill.
HOW HAS THE TOPSPINPRO HELPED YOUR PROGRAM?
The TopspinPro has really helped our players understand how to produce topspin by 'brushing' the ball and having a low to high swing.

We’ve been donating TopspinPros for years to all corners of the globe! We have many success stories from individuals, programs, and projects we have partnered with. We want to give you an insight into some of the wonderful work that goes into improving tennis availability worldwide and making it more of an all-inclusive sport. So many of these projects are bringing the sport to people who previously would never have had the chance to play. We are proud to be a part of this progression.
With our Official TopspinPro Community Program, we can help bring more public awareness to the projects that need assistance and also celebrate the individuals who are part of it! We will be sharing many stories, interviews, pictures and videos on our TopspinPro social media so make sure you are following @topspinpro or @pickleballtopspinpro for the latest updates!!

TopspinPro believes that everyone should have access to quality sports equipment, regardless of their circumstances. Over the last few years, we have donated TopspinPros to various charities, a cause close to our hearts. We are now encouraging our customers to join us and donate their unused TopspinPro Training Aids to children in need.
Your donation will help provide children with the tools they need to develop their athletic skills and improve their physical health. It will also help to reduce waste and promote sustainability by ensuring that your unused equipment is put to good use.
